Purpose of the function

LOCATION:                         SHERBROOKE (head Office)

SCOPE:                                 ALL FACILITIES (U.S., Mexico, Canada)


Reporting to the Vice-President of Finance, the incumbent main responsibilities will be to prepare consolidated financial statements, to coordinate the development of financial accounting tools, and to ensure compliance of the financial information produced by the department. This position offers exciting challenges and excellent opportunities for development at the head office of a growing manufacturing company with an international dimension. The candidate will work with multidisciplinary teams (engineering, manufacturing, sales, human resources, strategic purchasing, etc.).

More precisely, the candidate will:

  • Participate in the preparation and analysis of Financial Statements on a monthly basis;
  • Conduct monthly analyses of the Balance Sheet;
  • Ensure accurate intercompany transactions and maintain adequate documentation on transfer pricing policies;
  • Assess financial risks, prepare financial forecasts an make recommendations;
  • Plan short and long term cashflows and assess the effectiveness of the hedging policy;
  • Design and disclose key performance indicators;
  • Prepare documents for the Audit Committee;
  • Do research on complex accounting issues (ASPE);
  • Participate in the preparation of financial forecasts and ad-hoc analyses;
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual budget;
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual external audit of the Financial Statements;
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and propose improvements if necessary;
  • Manage the requests of the Canadian and US tax authorities.
  • The chosen candidate will have to manage a team of 3 employees who will support him to meet these challenges.


  • CPA designation required;
  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience;
  • Work experience in a big accounting firm;
  • Bilingualism – both verbal and in writing (knowledge of Spanish an asset);
  • The candidate will be required to perform occasional projects at company’s locations outside of Canada (2-3 times / year);
  • Rigor, autonomy, and initiative;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Strong computer skills (Office);
  • Experience with an ERP is considered an asset;
  • Strong priority management skills while respecting deadlines;
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team;
  • Organization skills;
  • Focus on improving business processes.
