Production Manager

Responsibility to function as a Production Manager: Ensure that the employee handbook is being followed; follow all IATF 16949 instructions. Ensures adherence to PPE policy and 5s principles. Responsible for day to day production, supervises, motivates, and supports the production operation daily, applying team approach, and maintaining open communication. Performs essential functions to ensure overall customer satisfaction and quality service, *ensuring that the processes are delivering their intended outputs, establishes and maintains effective and efficient planning and scheduling of personnel and equipment to reduce bottlenecks and problems. Leader of the production team, and accountable for meeting the department production and quality goals, as well as playing a key role in meeting the companywide profitability and customer satisfaction goals:

Job description

Operational Efficiency

·         Maximize overall production efficiency (OEE)

·         Improve direct\ indirect labor efficiency

·         Reduce waste and downtime

·         Improve setup time

·         Establish and follow a preventive maintenance system

·         Review daily shift reports

·         Host fast response / daily production meeting: Reviews the manufacturing schedule daily to ensure feasibility and makes adjustments when necessary

·         Measures goals/KPI’s to drive improvement and assists others in accomplishing these goals

·         Develop or revise standard operating and work practices throughout the manufacturing department

·         Provides support on new product launches and improvements of launches + CN process

·         Conduct cost/benefit analysis as needed


Meet Operational Plan Objectives

·         Monitor Quality system: use LEAN tool to continually improve the plant performance (5S, PFEP, Kanban, SMED…)

·         Deploy problem solving process called A3 thinking

·         Evaluate process matrix impact to improve weaker process

·         Maximize Plex (ERP system) utilization to improve management processes

Maintain harmonious labor relations

·         Maximize employee involvement through a Visual Management System.

·         Respect and broadcast HR policies and procedures

·         Improve accountability by leveraging performance management system

·         Attract and retain employees

·         Participate in monthly employee meetings to present data, information and focus on morale improvement within the organization.

Quality of Product/services – Customer Satisfaction

·         *Ensuring the promotion of customer focus throughout the organization

·         Participate in response (quickly) to customer complaints to minimize PRR and number of PPM

·         *Ensuring that quality management system conforms to the requirements of this International Standard

·         *Ensuring that the integrity of the quality management system is maintained when changes to the quality management systems are planned and implemented

·         *Setting quality objectives and related training

Health and Safety

·         Ensure employees health and safety – respect of law and regulations

·         Improve EH&S performance

·         Maintain WC cost to its minimum

·         *Ensuring that the environmental management system conforms to the requirements of the International Standard

·         Maintain a safe work environment and ensure the maintenance and upkeep of the overall facility.

Wanted profile


  • Bachelor degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or equivalent preferred; experience will be considered in lieu of degree
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior leadership position
  • Good management skills
  • Ability to communicate, motivate and mobilize
  • Knowledgeable of automotive industry
  • Strong knowledge of Lean principals
  • Team work
  • Available for occasional travel
  • At ease with IT Microsoft work environment


Personnel Management

·         Communicates effectively (frequent communication with the whole plant personnel)

·         Provide a positive, motivating example for employees.

·         Act as a resource to implement best practices via one on one interaction/coaching to further develop the team.

·         Evaluate employees and address training needs

·         Support employees in their IOP fulfillment

·         Review and correct TLO logs (Applicable for hourly employees)

·         Review and track PTO

·         Plan and support cross training initiatives
