Lean Coordinator

  • Teaches and trains the facility using the BEST Process.Develops teaching material, prepares visual illustrations, delivers the message and trains team members on BEST. Delivers key Lean coaching. Uses "train the trainer" methodology for training all levels of the organization on Lean concepts, tools and methodologies. Develops and maintains Lean training material and curriculum to enable continued development of internal capability in application of these materials. Multi-tasks on various projects and support items while using exceptional troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Responsible for multiple initiatives, consistently implementing Lean practices including event facilitation, workshop facilitation, coaching, training, process documentation and analysis. Works with the entire value stream to explore opportunities, understand current state and implement future state vision.

Job description

  • Leads and facilitates Kaizen and other Lean events.Leads efforts to reduce and/or eliminate waste and improve processes. Facilitates improvement activities and formal events at all levels of the organization, while aligning those activities to a defined strategy. Leads both small and large project teams in multicultural environments.
  • Demonstrates mastery of related subject matter as a trainer, coach and student.Serves as a thought leader and cultural change agent. Through the development of people's skills and abilities, embeds Lean and Lean tools inside the organization as people's way of working. Supports ongoing initiative processes and integrates the discipline of Lean management into exo-s operating plans. Manages and completes multiple complex technical projects. Familiar with the application of Lean tools and techniques in multiple environments, organization and business categories.
  • Collaborates with the Lean Leader and Lean Facilitator.Develops, teaches and works with groups on Lean projects assigned in Lean class. Teaches and assists team members in their Lean transformation and project management. Participates in set-up, breakdown, and teaching of the Lean Learning Experience and other classes as required. Cross-trains on strategy facilitation and other related duties as directed by supervisor.
  • Participates as a member of the Team.Participates in the ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
  • Exo-s Operating systems principles and objectives:Is familiar with exo-s established operating systems (e.g. quality, environment, company policies, LEAN); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Must be comfortable working closely with hourly team members and the executive team.

Wanted profile


  • High school or equivalent. At least one Lean-related certification required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position is required
  • A good understanding of APQP and ISO TS is required
  • Blow molding or other plastic processing experience is preferred
  • Tool design knowledge
  • Part design Knowledge
  • Able to use continuous improvement tools (such as Kaizen Champion, A3, WCM, Lean Six Sigma, Agile…)
  • Able to lead problem solving activities and design reviews
  • Able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Could be asked to travel to our customers / suppliers / other Exo-s sites
  • Excellent team leadership skills

Autonomous, the candidate is able to work with little supervision


Responsible for the facilitation of Lean across the facility, helping form and inform new and existing value streams and promote accountability and transparency across all levels of the facility.
