Job Summary:
The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for identifying, leading, and executing improvement initiatives across the manufacturing facility. This role will focus on driving operational excellence, enhancing productivity, reducing waste, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. The Continuous Improvement Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy Development: Develop and implement a facility-wide continuous improvement strategy aligned with operational goals.
- Lean & Six Sigma: Apply Lean tools and Six Sigma methodologies to improve process efficiency, reduce variation, and increase product quality.
- Project Management: Lead cross-functional teams on Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and root cause analysis initiatives.
- Training & Coaching: Provide training and mentorship to employees at all levels on continuous improvement tools and principles.
- Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data to identify trends, track KPIs, and support fact-based decision-making.
- Change Management: Facilitate organizational change by engaging employees, overcoming resistance, and ensuring sustainability of improvements.
- Best Practices: Standardize successful processes and share best practices across departments and locations.
- Cost Reduction: Identify and implement initiatives that lead to measurable cost savings and operational efficiencies.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all improvement activities adhere to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish systems to monitor and report on the success of improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or operations improvement, preferably in plastic molding
- Certified Lean Master and/or Black Belt preferred.
- Strong project management, facilitation, and analytical skills.
- Experience with manufacturing metrics, SPC, and root cause analysis tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities with a passion for team development.
- Demonstrated ability to drive cultural change and sustain improvement initiatives.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing floor and office environment with exposure to production processes.
- Requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- May require flexible hours to support shift-based production teams and projects.
- Travel may be required outside of the USA
