GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsibility to function as a Supervisor: Ensure that the employee handbook is being followed; follow all IATF 16949 Instructions. Ensures adherence to PPE policy and 5s principles. Ensure work instructions are being followed and employees are properly trained on products and advised of all changes. Ensures documentation on the floor is up to date and controlled. Supervisor will be responsible for approving the hiring of temporary employees, counseling and coaching on performance along with conducting performance appraisals. Responsible for development of all employees in the department, daily supervision and directing of employee task, and for hiring, disciplining, and termination of employees under direct supervision. Responsible for ensuring company standards are achieved and maintained with a targeted emphasis on continuous improvement, providing support, structure and documented, formalized training for employees. Required to be hands-on, self-starter with the ability to motivate and lead the employees.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL ELEMNETS OF THE JOB
• Safety
First Response for first aide or emergency situations
Document and report all incidents/accidents
Ensures the use of safe procedures and standard work
Ensure all equipment and machinery is operational and in good working order
Ergonomic awareness by coordinating press rotation and cell rotation
Understand lockout tagout location on machines and grinders
• Quality/Customer Focus
Coordinate the training of team members in quality issues and policies
Review and communicate quality alerts/customer concerns to team members
Review Fast Response and participate in actions needed to find solution
Verify weight checks are completed and required documentation for adjustments
Knowledge of standard work, materials, tools, and equipment needed for zone
Ensure documentation, components, tools, etc. are supplied to operators
Containments of all non-conforming parts
Perform Layered process audit for given schedule
• Daily Activities
Transition meeting with outgoing/incoming supervisors
Develop and implement improved processes to ensure that the department is functioning in the most effective and efficient manner
Instruct team in proper work methods and standard work, monitor team quality, insure adherence to touch point inspections
Review Daily shift report and able to communicate to team
Review and understand Part Surveillance to aid in decisions regarding priority
Distributes team members to specific tasks during downtime or setup
Initiate and promote continuous improvement project
Monitor and promote safe work practices
Promote and enforce a clean and organized work environment guided by the 5s principles
Understand problem solving and escalation process
Lead and participate in improvements and initiatives
Support ongoing improvement activities
EDUCATION / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
• Education/Experience
High school graduate, or general eduation degree (GED)
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, and procudeure manual
Preferred PC Skills to include MS word, excel, power point
Ability to effectiely present information and respond to questions from team members, management, and customers.
Team player / good attitude
Ability to work independantly as well as part of a team.
• Physical Requirement
Must be able to physically perform the basic life operation functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion. Must posses the visual alertness to operate equipment and motor vehicles, perform trades, tasks, inspect the work of others, and review work for accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness.
