PURPOSE OF THE FUNCTION

Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, the Systems and Applications Administrator’s main responsibility will be to manage and ensure the security of Windows servers and the enterprise applications hosted on them. The administrator will also ensure service availability, access management and advanced technical support for critical systems such as Autocad, SpinFire, GuideTI, TeamCenter and other corporate tools.

More specifically, the person sought will be called upon to :

  • Administer Windows servers (updates, backups, performance monitoring, security, storage, etc.).
  • Manage users, groups, permissions and distribution lists in Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
  • Manage application license servers, including Autocad and SpinFire (installation, renewal, license tracking, troubleshooting).
  • Administer and maintain server-based applications such as GuideTI, TeamCenter and other corporate systems.
  • Collaborate with suppliers or partners on application updates or incidents.
  • Proactively monitor the performance and availability of servers and applications.
  • Document procedures, configurations and access to managed systems.
  • Participate in planning backups, restores and updates.
  • Provide level 1 and level 2 technical support to users and the IT team for server and application environments.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of IT systems security, reliability and performance.
  • Support Level 1 technicians in resolving more complex incidents and provide temporary replacements in case of absence to maintain continuity of operations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS :

  • Mastery of Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022) and associated roles (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO, IIS, etc.).
  • Good understanding of software license administration (Autocad, SpinFire, FlexLM, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of industrial or engineering applications (GuideTI, TeamCenter, etc.).
  • Experience with backups, system monitoring (NinjaOne, Lansweeper, etc.) and patch management.
  • Ability to diagnose and solve performance, compatibility and application dependency problems.
  • System security and access management.
  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written, due to frequent exchanges with teams in Canada, the United States and Mexico.

Training and experience

  • Diploma in information technology, network administration or equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in Windows administration and application management.
  • Experience in technical support.
  • Analytical and rigorous.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple files.
  • Good communicator and collaborator with IT teams and user departments.
  • Attention to detail and a sense of service.
  • Valid passport for occasional travel.
